New York University Tandon was ranked ninth place in the 2013 U.S News and World Report’s rankings for Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs. NYU-Tandon’s digital learning program, NYU-Tandon, is one of nearly 860 programs surveyed; only regionally accredited schools that meet federal standards of entirely online delivery were evaluated.
“It’s thanks to our acclaimed faculty’s creative virtual instruction that we achieved the honor,” said Robert Ubell, NYU-Tandon’s vice president of enterprise learning, who heads the school’s online programs.

“Superb online student service and robust technology make our 68 virtual classrooms among the most rigorous in the world,” Ubell added. “They provide the same content, taught by the same noted faculty, as on campus.”

NYU-Tandon delivers nine master’s degrees in high-demand fields, including bioinformatics, cyber security, wireless, telecommunications, and computer, electrical, industrial, manufacturing and systems engineering.

With approximately 1,500 enrollments, NYU-Tandon online students doubled last summer and jumped by 30 percent in the fall. The largest online graduating class of at least 45 students is expected to earn degrees in May 2013. Many are senior executives at global high-tech firms, including Goldman Sachs, Northrop Grumman and SAIC, among other global companies.

The rankings were based on a combination of peer reputation, student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student service and technology, and admissions selectivity.
